Pride Month is the time set aside to celebrate LGBTQ+ people, their daily contributions to our world, and to pay respects to the struggles that have yet to be overcome. That sounds super serious, but really, pride is all about honor and celebration.
Each year, plenty of political marches take place, but if you also want to find cool things to do to celebrate your life and/or the lives of those around you, here are a few fun ways you can participate in Pride Month.
1. Attend The Pride Run In New York City’s Central Park

The 36th annual Front Runners New York (FRNY) Pride Run will take place in the Big Apple at Central Park on June 24.
2. Use Lyft During Pride Month To Pay It Forward
For Pride Month, Lyft is encouraging its riders to round up their trips, so the remaining amount goes toward the Human Rights Campaign, a civil rights organization dedicated to LGBTQ+ equality.

The Boston Pride Parade begins on June 10 in Boston at 12 p.m. There should be food and music. This is also a family-friendly event.

Miley Cyrus will help Washington DC end their annual Pride Month celebration with a concert on Sunday, June 11. The concert will wrap up the Pride festival, which is scheduled for 12 to 7 p.m. on that day.
5. Have An educational LGBTQ+ Movie Night

I recommend this for both straight, cis-gendered people and those in the LGBTQ+ community. Invite a few friends over to watch a great film that correctly includes LGBTQ+ people or centers a story about the history of their contributions.
Celebrate with Pride-centric party favors and foods (see: the life-saver that is Pinterest) and bring your favorite booze if you’d really like movie time to be a turn-up affair.
6. Go To LGBT Night At The Dodgers Stadium In LA

LGBT Night at Dodger Stadium is Friday! Purchase a ticket pack to get this exclusive T-shirt.
— Los Angeles Dodgers (@Dodgers) June 6, 2017

The Dodgers game will be lit up by the rainbow on Friday, June 9, when the Dodgers play the Cincinnati Reds. The LGBT kickoff party will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. and tickets are sold with a rainbow-hued Dodgers t-shirt.
7. Go To The Family Equality Day Picnic In New Orleans

LGBTQ+ families are part of the fabric of America, right? So enjoy a family lunch outside at the Longue Vue House and Gardens between 11 AM and 1 p.m. This is obviously a kid-friendly event and it comes with a bounce house, arts and crafts, and an insect hunt in the Discovery Garden.
Whether you’re planning a trip or just kicking it around the house, there’s no way you won’t be able to have fun as you participate in Pride Month.
